West Houston Assistance Ministries has assisted those in crisis for 35 years. When the deadly storms hit Houston just over a week ago, given the enormous need, I took the decision to focus our efforts on disaster relief.
In response, WHAM has identified the following needs for which they are presently raising funds:
- Rent/Utility Assistance ($700/family),
- Transportation assistance, including car repairs ($500/family)
- Gas cards ($50), and bus passes ($10),
- Store gift cards for small appliances,
- Motel accommodation for 1 week ($300/family).
WHAM is committed to doing all it can to help as many people as possible to recover from this horrific natural disaster. Of funds donated, 100% will go to helping those affected by the storms.
