I’m a south Louisiana guy. I was raised in Baton Rouge with a taste for jambalaya, and a love for the LSU Tigers. Unfortunately, I didn’t develop the accent, which would have been nice. One of the best decisions I ever made was moving to Texas when I went to college. In 2000, I graduated from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX with a degree in Religion and Theater. During my time there, I met Abby, who would become my wife in December of 2006. She’s a Texas girl, raised just outside of Houston in Dayton, TX. She works as a seamstress and costumer at a local costume shop, but also takes private commissions for elaborate pieces through an online store. She’s absolutely brilliant. Together we have two sons; James, who is 10 years old and a genius - or a terrorist - depending upon what day it is; and Jesse, born in 2017 whose face is perpetually frozen into a grin. They are the greatest, as is our fur baby, old man Cash, the lab/husky who is 13 years old.
I’m way into Jesus and Batman (in that order). A perpetual Seminarian, I long for the day I can read for pleasure again - and that includes comic books, history books, fiction, theology and blogs. I also enjoy movies, which I don’t watch enough of, and television which I watch way too much of. I enjoy sports, growing a beard, craft Root Beer in a bottle, and social media. I love all kinds of music, but very rarely listen to anything on the radio but sports talk, NPR, and podcasts. My life’s mission is to write a better story with my life, and encourage you to write one, too. After serving the families of Christ the Servant for the last 7 years as Director of Youth and Family Ministries, I'm currently serving a year-long Pastoral Internship in preparation for ordination to Word and Sacrament Ministry in the ELCA. |
