Spark Family Sunday School
A really great thing that the folks who write our Sunday School curriculum are doing! Dawn Rundman from Sparkhouse leads a Sunday School lesson every week from her living room, and she even involves her own family (who are surprisingly musical! Actually, her husband is recording artist Jonathan Rundman!) She uses the lectionary text for each week, cutouts from the Spark Bible illustrations, and multiple activities to reinforce the lesson! There are also printable handouts and coloring sheets available for every lesson. Each session lasts between 12 and 13 minutes - piece of cake! |
Faith At Home, a resource from MinistryLinks
Pastor Janelle Hooper (one our own from the TX-LA Gulf Coast Synod) works for ELCA Churchwide doing faith formation for children and students. She also works as the Director of Faith Formation at our sister church, New Hope Lutheran Church in Missouri City, TX. She curates a page similar to this one, only MUCH better! Check it out for great at-home resources for Sunday School and Family devotions during quarantine or after! Click the image to the left to check it out! |

Pandemic Hope: A Family Devotional For Life During COVID-19
This is a great new resource that just came out. It has one or two simple things that families can do together each day and is organized in a really easy to understand way. It comes with a couple of printable things, and has tons of links to activities out there on the web! Credit: This is a product of Rebecca Grate of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westerville, OH, who led a collaboration of ELCA clergy (pastors and deacons) and youth leaders. Shout out to the host of this resource, Faith Inkubators (faith5.org) who do a lot of really great work on exactly this same kind of stuff. Pandemic Faith: A Family Devotional For Life During COVID-19 This sequel to Pandemic Hope was just released! Pandemic Faith picks up where the previous devotional material left off, and begins on May 11th and runs for 8 more weeks until July 5th. But you can start it whenever you first pick it up! No doubt that if our shelter-in-place orders continue, or resume, there's likely to be a third series of devotions for families called Pandemic Love. This little booklet is one of the best things to come out of this stay-at-home season. I hope you're taking advantage of it! |
